Opening

We look forward to recruit bachelor, master as well as PhD students, and welcome visits from researchers working in our research areas.

If you are already a student at Saarland University, then email Aniket Kate for an appointment or just stop by his office. If not, please email Aniket Kate and we can take things forward from there. Please use the pdf or postscript format for your files and avoid sending MS Word files. More details for each opening is as follows.

PhD/PostDoc Positions

We have one open PhD/PostDoc position. We are looking for an outstanding candidate with some prior research experience in cryptography, privacy, and/or secure system implementation.
  • PostDoc Applicant: Please email Aniket Kate with your CV including list of publications, research statement, and contact information for your three referees.
  • PhD Applicant: In order to work with us towards your PhD, you will have to first get admitted to the Saarbruecken Graduate School of Computer Science or the International Max Planck Research School for Computer Science. Nevertheless, we encourage the outstanding students to contact us directly with their CV so that we can follow their application. You should also mention interest in joining the CrypSys group or Dr. Aniket Kate in your formal application.
  • Research Immersion Lab: We also look forward to recruit some graduate school students, who wish to complete their research immersion lab in the areas of cryptography, security and privacy. Please contact Aniket Kate regarding this.

Bachelor/Master Thesis

Our group has a number of bachelor/master thesis topics available in our active research areas, as well as cryptography, security, and privacy in general. A bachelor/master thesis student should have successfully completed the relevant course work (cryptography, security, or distributed systems) at Saarland University or during their previous studies. We look forward to recruit theoretical as well as systems oriented students (as long as you can think like an attacker).

HiWi positions

The CrypSys group also has a few HiWi positions, and we look forward to hire students with previous hands-on experience. A HiWi should have successfully completed the relevant course work (cryptography, security, or distributed systems) at Saarland University or during their previous studies.

Visitors and External Internship

We always look forward to extend our collaborations, and welcome short-term visits by PhD students, PostDoc, senior researchers, and faculty members working in our research areas. Please contact Aniket Kate if you would like to visit us for a few days/weeks/months. Please note that we are not looking for undergraduate interns currently.
